Kompany BENCHED for Man City v Middlesborough

Posted on November 05, 2016 by Admin

The Manchester City and Belgium international star has certainly had more than his fair share of injury problems in his playing career, and the last time he started a game for us he had to be replaced by Pep Guardiola quite early on as his match fitness was not there yet.

Kompany will have trained a lot since then to improve his fitness though, so iff he is fit enough to make the squad then I would have thought the Belgian was sure to start. It is not just the fact that he is our best defender that makes Kompany so important either, but the job that our club captain does as a leader on the pitch.

However, even though Guardiola does not have Otamendi available for Man City’s home Premier League tie with Middlesborough, he has left Kompany on the bench and put the left back Kolarov in the middle next to young John Stones.

That is my only real concern for this match though, as the attacking flair in the side should be more than enough to take all three points, with the likes of Silva, De Bruyne and Gundogan backing up the in form Sergio Aguero.

Bravo
Zabaleta, Stones, Kolarov, Clichy
Fernandinho, Gundogan
Navas, De Bruyne, Silva
Aguero

Subs: Caballero, Kompany, Maffeo, Garcia, Nolito, Iheanacho, Sane.
