Manchester City to Bring All Out War Next Season

It can be argued that Manchester City have not had a great season, the fact is they have had a good season that has gone unnoticed by football fans. The club are set to face Wigan in the FA cup final on the 11th of May that could see them pick up their first and only piece of silverware this season. To have the opportunity to pick up any silverware in a season should mean that you have had a good season but the general feeling is that with the expensive, highly-paid players that City have to offer, they should have been challenging strongly on all fronts this season.

So what does this apparent failure of a season mean for the club?

The club have been deciding whether to find a new manager with names such as Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini being mentioned to take the hotseat in the summer. It is unclear if manager Roberto Mancini will be moving on or not but one thing for sure is that the players will be seeing plenty of arrivals and departures this summer as the owner authorises another wave of spending to carve out a legendary team to dominate European and English football.

Players such as Edison Cavani, Luis Suarez and even Cristiano Ronaldo are being mentioned as City’s big money targets with several other players being touted to replace the wantaway Edin Dzeko and with Kolo Toure confirming his departure from the club and Joleon Lescott admitting his likeliness to leave, it seems a couple of defenders will be on the shopping list.

The under achieving Samir Nasri could also be sold with PSG said to be interested in the Frenchman, Gareth Barry is beginning to lose his fitness and quality so another midfielder or two could be on their ways to the Etihad.

With all the uncertainty over the players and the manager’s future at the club, this summer could be very interesting for fans of the Manchester club as they look to snatch back the league title from their arch-rivals Manchester United next season.
