Sinclair could soon return from Man City to Swansea

Manchester City travel to Wales tomorrow to play Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. The chances of Scott Sinclair getting his fourth start of the season against his former club are pretty slim, however, and the midfielder could soon be playing there regularly again. Michael Laudrup has offered encouragement to the 24-year old midfielder, who seems destined to move on in the summer.

Sinclair knew what he was getting into when he joined City from Swansea last August. He said all the right things at the time, but has failed to force his way into the side. It is fair to say that he has not had a lot of playing time, but when he has played he has not taken his chances to impress. Now he has started moaning and blaming Roberto Mancini.
He even suggested that he would only stay if the manager left. That is not something you want to hear from the most valued players, nevermind a squad player who has done nothing.

Laudrup will be looking to boost his squad as Swansea head for a third season in the Premier League and have a place in the Europa League because of their cup win. Sinclair did well for them and it seems as if Laudrup would have him back if he can arrange a satisfactory deal.

“We have to make some decisions when we start talking to people about what is possible and what is not,” said Laudrup. “Because it is one thing having names on paper, and another when you start talking about salaries, transfers and all that.

“But he has quality and has already shown it and we will see what decisions we make on that in the future.

“Good players in his position are always an option and he has a British passport which is another thing we have to look at in an overall perspective.”

There are likely to be a lot of changes in the City squad this summer and we cannot afford to have lots of deadwood hanging around. Either fight harder for your place, stop moaning or just move on. At least Sinclair seems keen to play regularly wherever he can, so hopefully will not just collect his wages at City.
