There have been lots of rumours about players coming in to or leaving Manchester City and with the January transfer window just over a month away, they will only get more frequent and more outlandish as the rumour mill goes into overdrive.

So the transfer window is now closed until January and the Premier League clubs must make do with what they’ve got. Manchester City have been fairly busy, bringing in five players during the summer, but how does our transfer business compare to the rest of the teams, especially those most likely to be rivals for the title and silverware?

It would be the biggest story of this summer transfer window if Manuel Pellegrini could persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to sign for Manchester City. According to media reports, City are prepared to offer the Portuguese star £300,000 a week to swap the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid for the Etihad stadium in Manchester.

It looks like Manchester City have got themselves an absolute diamond in Jesus Navas. His cameo performances for Spain in the Confederations Cup in Brazil have been extremely promising, and make you wonder why he doesn’t play for the national side more often. Every time he comes on, Spain look much better and more threatening, and I cannot wait to see him running at Premier League defences.

Bale to Madrid is Win-Win for Manchester City 0

I am sure that Manchester City, like most clubs in Europe and around the world would love to sign Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur. Realistically, though, only three Premier League clubs would be in with a chance and that chance is not very big. City, United and Chelsea could afford him, even though Spurs are looking for upwards of £60 million, but there are the new Financial Fair Play Rules to consider, as well as the fact that Spurs would much rather sell him abroad than to a Premier League rival.
