Poor ref NO excuse for Man City v CSKA disaster!! 0

Posted on November 05, 2014 by Admin

All the pain that Manchester City fans have felt in the Champions League in the last few years was distilled into 90 minutes tonight as City’s faltering campaign collapsed with a home defeat by CSKA Moscow. The referee, as usual, was awful and gave us nothing all night.

Title to lead Man City players to more glory…even the World Cup? 0

There is just one game to go Manchester City fans, but we will still be nervous tomorrow, even though we only need a draw. West Ham have been speaking all week about spoiling our party and nobody, especially the City players, will forget how close we came to fluffing our lines against QPR two years ago. Thank you Joey Barton, you nutter.

As great as it is to see Manchester City with a powerful team fighting to become Premier League champions and also doing well in the Champions League, the fact that our neighbours Man United have slumped since David Moyes took over from Ol’ Red Nose and are in danger of missing out on Europe altogether makes it so much sweeter.

For the first time in the Premier League era, Manchester City head to Old Trafford as strong favourites to turn over fierce local rivals United. But David Moyes and his players will be boosted by their win at West Ham and City cannot afford to let them get another morale boosting result.

Do Man City need to change tactics for Barcelona? 0

First of all, I hope and assume that Manchester City will take zero notice of the latest pearl of wisdom to come from Jose Mourinho, suggesting that the current Barcelona team are the worst they have had in years. They may have had a little dip in form in the last few months, but Messi was struggling with injury and they are now back and firing on all cylinders.

This is the big one for Manchester City. Tomorrow evening will see Manuel Pellegrini’s impressive City side face possibly the biggest challenge yet for a place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. It is certainly the tie of the round, with Barcelona having staked a claim in thew last decade to being the best football team ever.

It is not as if the Manchester City squad has been decimated with injuries, but the players who are unavailable are hugely important. Of course, that is one of the reasons we have got such a strong and talented squad. In the really big games, however, you do not want to have to do without the likes of Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho.

Manuel Pellegrini, in his post match interview, that Manchester City were a bit unlucky and that the game against Chelsea was a close one. The Chilean boss alluded to a number of missed chances, suggesting that it could really have gone either way. I suppose you could agree, with one superb strike from Ivanovic providing the only goal of the game, but that would be to overlook the main issue.

MANUEL’S SUMMER SIGNINGS OUTSHINING MOURINHO’S

As Manchester City plan for the trip to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Manuel Pellegrini can possibly take some comfort in this story about how the betting public is much more impressed with the transfer business done by City in the summer as opposed to that of our Premier League rivals managed by the not-so-special one Jose Mourinho.

Man City must ignore pitch and grind out win in Moscow 0

Manchester City go into this Champions League double header against CSKA Moscow level on points with their opponents. With Bayern Munich looking unstoppable to top the group, City need to make the most out of these two games against the Russians, so the distractions about the pitch are not helpful.
