Mourinho mind games show he is scared of Man City 0

Manchester City travel to London today aiming to become the first team to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, at least while Jose Mourinho has been in charge of the club. It is a phenomenal record, but you would think it would give the Portuguese manager plenty of confidence, and it usually does, but I get the feeling he is worried about the visit of City today.

There has been a lot of talk this week about whether the transfer window should be closed before the season starts, but Manchester City will be one team who is glad it is still open. It has given Manuel Pellegrini the chance to react to the defensive frailties that have been on show since Victor Kompany picked up his groin injury.

To be honest, when Manchester City sacked Roberto Mancini and the name of Manuel Pellegrini was mentioned as his replacement, I didn’t know a great deal about the 59-year old Chilean, and a quick look showed that he had lasted just a single season at Real Madrid, despite having Ronaldo, Kaka and a host of top class players.

Pellegrini will need time to make Man City compete in Europe says Mancini 0

The former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has been speaking a lot about his former club, including his continued feeling that he should not have been sacked, but he has no hard feelings towards the man who took over his position at the Etihad stadium, Manuel Pellegrini.

It has been reported today that Manchester City are feeling pretty confident about having the young Spanish star Isco at the club for the start of next season. The main challengers, Real Madrid, are still blundering about trying to get a new manager, over a month after they announced the departure of Jose Mourinho.

The Spanish giants may be desperate to sign Isco this summer, but the Spanish media seems to think that Manchester City are the favourites to complete the transfer of the young Malaga star. His fantastic performances for Spain at the under 21 championships in Israel has made his capture even more important for the Real Madrid fans, and the Spanish media tried to get some hint of his decision as the team arrived back from winning the tournament, but Isco was giving nothing away.

After about a month of waiting, the Manchester City fans finally have official confirmation that the 59-year old Chilean Manuel Pellegrini will be the new manager following the sacking of the popular Roberto Mancini. The announcement today states that he will start work officially on June 24th and has signed a three year contract.

Isco is transfer target for Man City – once Pellegrini arrives 0

The transfer rumours and media speculation about Isco and a summer transfer to Manchester City have died down a lot recently, but that is not because the club has lost interest or because of the signing of Jesus Navas from Sevilla. The move is just on hold, apparently, and things will start to move again once Manuel Pellegrini arrives.

Pellegrini snubbed PSG for long term Man City plan 0

The new manager of Manchester City should be announced next week, after Manuel Pellegrini has completed the Spanish La Liga team Malaga. The 59-year old has revealed that he was also contacted by Paris Saint-Germain, the mega rich, newly crowned champions of France, but his talks with City executives about the plans at the Etihad convinced him that Manchester had to be his next destination.

Pellegrini admits he HAS agreed to join Man City 0

I am not sure why there is all this cloak and dagger stuff between Manchester City and Manuel Pellegrini. It has been clear for some time that the newspaper story that broke on the morning of the FA cup final was true. The Chilean manager has now admitted that there is a verbal agreement between him and the club for him to take over the reins this summer.
