Ibrahimovic would almost guarantee Man City the Premier League title 2

If there is even a small chance that Manchester City could sign the Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic then Manuel Pellegrini should have been on the phone already. Just as the signing of Robin van Persie from Arsenal proved to be the difference for United last season, I think Ibrahimovic would have the same effect for City this time.

The bad news is that Robert Lewandowski will not be joining Manchester City this summer, according to his current manager. The good news is that he won’t be joining our Premier League rivals Manchester United or Chelsea either. The Polish international will see out the remaining year of his contract with Borussia Dortmund before joining the European champions Bayern Munich next summer.

Man City target Cavani will go to PSG 0

There were a number of top clubs around Europe, including Manchester City, chasing the signature of Edinson Cavani this summer. The Uruguayan international striker was definitely one of the most sought after transfer targets, after blasting over 30 goals a season for the last three years, but his release clause of over £50 million and the refusal by Napoli to consider any other offers has put off most of the clubs.

There is no doubt that Manchester City can afford Edinson Cavani, despite the massive release clause of over £50 million in his contract with the Serie A club Napoli. That is not the only obstacle standing in the way of capturing the big Uruguayan striker, however, as the list of top European clubs after his signature continues to grow.

After Manchester City have already completed two top quality signings so far in this summer’s transfer window, and finally announced the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini as the new man in charge at the Etihad stadium, things are shaping up nicely for us as we look forward to the season ahead.

If Manchester City want to add a really top quality striker to the team this summer, the backroom staff had better get their arses in gear, because two of the most sought after front men in the world have already decided to go elsewhere this week.

The most infuriating thing about Samir Nasri, as far as Manchester City fans are concerned, is that we know he is a fantastic player. We have seen further evidence of it this season, but on far too few occasions. He was heavily criticised, and rightly so, by Roberto Mancini earlier in the season, which he clearly did not like. Then he produced some good performances and finally admitted that he had not been doing enough.

A lot of the media speculation surrounding Manchester City and the possible sacking of the current manager Roberto Mancini centres around a meeting that the club’s executives had with the agent who looks after the interests of Manuel Pellegrini. The new director of football, Txiki Begiristain, who was in charge of Barcelona for years, had lunch in Spain with this agent and the story has now escalated into an agreement with Pellegrini to take over from Mancini this summer.

Edinson Cavani is one of the most sought after strikers in the football world and has been heavily linked with a summer transfer to Manchester City. The 26-year old has a buy out clause in his contract with Napoli believed to be around £52 million. Add to that his wage demands of around £200,000 per week, and there are not too many clubs with the financial clout to sign him.

Nasri future uncertain as Man City look at replacements 0

There are story linking Manchester City with two possible transfer targets who could replace the French international Samir Nasri. The 25-year old’s career at the Etihad has stalled this season, with many thinking that some of Roberto Mancini’s comments about players needing to prove themselves were directed at him. The young Dutch star Adam Maher of AZ Alkmaar and the Bosnian international Miralem Pjanic of Roma are the players that City are looking at as possible replacements, apparently.
