Richards latest Man City player to worry about World Cup place 0

Posted on November 12, 2013 by Admin

There has been increasing coverage in the media about players getting itchy feet in the run up to the World Cup in Brazil next summer, and Manchester City probably have more than their fair share of players in that position. With two top quality players for almost every position in the team, there are always going to be some who miss out.

Can Manchester City cope without Kompany? 0

Manuel Pellegrini takes his Manchester City team north to play Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup tonight, and because the competition is not the highest of priorities, the Chilean coach may not have played his captain anyway, but he has not even got the option, because Vincent Kompany is taking longer to recover from his thigh problem than first thought.

Man City to lose Richards unless he plays more? 0

In the season leading up to a World Cup finals, there are always going to be players who are unhappy about the lack of playing time they are getting, and that seems to be the case for Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards. The 25-year old is understandably concerned about his place in the England national side, because while he has been injured, Tottenham’s Kyle Walker has been able to stake his claim at right back and Liverpool’s Glen Johnson is close to a return from injury.

Man City MUST take advantage of Bayern’s slow start 0

It seems it me like one of the big reasons for Manchester City replacing Roberto Mancini with Manuel Pellegrini this summer was the Champions League. While City have been awful in it for the last two seasons, Pellegrini has worked wonders with Villareal and Malaga.

Manchester City cruised into the next round of the Capital One cup with an emphatic drubbing of the team that beat us in the FA cup final last season. The 5-0 scoreline was the perfect end to the perfect week of football for the Citizens and means the team are really on a roll (video highlights below).

Wigan fixture pile up makes life easier for Man City in league cup 0

Manchester City face the first match in this season’s Capital One Cup tonight, with Wigan Athletic coming to the Etihad. If they hadn’t beaten us to the FA cup last season, I might feel sorry for them, just a bit, but as it is I am just glad that their fixture list has conspired to make this a game they really don’t want, so theor manager Owen Coyle is set to rest a number of first team regulars.

Nastasic recovery vital for Man City as Kompany out for at least a month 0

Manchester City will be without their captain and best defender for at least four weeks, apparently, after scans revealed that the Belgian international central defender’s groin injury is not just a tweak. Kompany will miss at least the next two games before the international break. Fortunately for us, the next two games are against promoted teams Cardiff City and Hull City, or Tigers or whatever they are called now.

Will Nastasic injury force Man City to complete Pepe transfer? 2

The four summer signings that Manchester City have made so far this summer have got the fans and players excited about the Premier League season to come, and should help the club to put the previous two season’s Champions League disappointments behind us. There have been media rumours and speculation that there might be one more transfer to come, with the Real Madrid and Portugal defender Pepe the player most likely.

Man City show good and bad sides in 5-3 win over AC Milan(with highlights) 0

We should remember it is still pre-season and that Manchester City were starting with a makeshift central defensive pairing of Joleon Lescott and Javi Garcia, but Manuel Pellegrini knows there is a lot of work to be done after conceding three goals in six minutes.

Man City will NOT sell Lescott says Pellegrini 3

Posted on July 10, 2013 by Admin

Manuel Pellegrini faces the press as the manager of Manchester City for the first time today, before heading out with the squad to South Africa to start the serious business of training and preparing for pre-season and getting in tip-top shape for the start of the Premier League in just over a month. One player who may not have been sure whether he would be on the plane today, Joleon Lescott, has no doubts anymore as Pellegrini has assured him that he will not be sold this summer.
